More importantly, the lightweight, waterproof pendant can be used in the shower and tub. The bathroom is one of main areas where the elderly are most vulnerable. Therefore, it’s imperative that an emergency response pendant be able to work where moisture, humidity, and heavy water flow occurs, so if you fall you can still communicate with emergency personnel through the monitor while having the freedom of wearing the buoyant pendant while bathing.
Another tip to think about is - the speaker phone pendant is large and visible, while a waterproof pendant can be disguised as a watch and is small enough to be tucked into a shirt to eliminate any embarrassment a person might feel for needing a medical alert system.
